As you know, Tyler Hill is a place for your children to make friends, feel good about themselves, try new things and have fun. It’s also supposed to be different from school and home ... which incidentally is another great reason why parents choose to send their kids to camp!

The camp experience makes a difference in children’s lives because it is designed around social interaction – living with and enjoying those “camp” friends. And therefore, modern technology has no place in camp!

We do not allow any camper, under any circumstance to have a cell phone. PERIOD!! WE MAKE NO EXCEPTIONS. In the event a camper is found with a cell phone, he or she will NOT be permitted to participate in his or her extended trip or will be asked to leave camp for a 4 day suspension (NO REFUNDS WILL BE ISSUED). We wholeheartedly believe this policy is central to being at camp, and will count on you to support this policy without exception. Aside from our campers who travel to and from camp by airplane whose phones we collect and hold all summer, we ask that you simply not allow your child to bring their phone to camp at all.

Unauthorized devices will be confiscated. While we've made every effort to be clear on which electronics are permitted in camp, when in doubt, ask yourself these questions:

  1. Does this device playback video and have any video content on it?
  2. Can this device access the internet or have cellular service?

If you answered yes to either of these questions, please leave the device at home.

Thank you in advance for understanding the purpose of the camp experience and for complying with this very important policy.
