Preciado Wedding April 2017

Vanessa & Nick

How We Met.....

We first met at a college group in San Dimas at CCV. We had a lot of mutual friends and they introduced us. The first night we met, Nick had long hair, a lot of facial hair and was wearing a Dodger blue poncho so I had no interest in him. But he was a really nice guy and I could see us being good friends…that was what I thought until I saw him the next week at college group. The next week he came with a haircut, shaved face and was dressed nice and I immediately knew I wanted to get to to him.

We started hanging out as friends, but after about a month of getting to know each other we went on our first date. We went to Sunday morning service and then to lunch at Chilis. We sat and talked for about 6 hours that day and after, I knew there was something special about him.

how he asked

How he asked was straight out of a movie.

The night he asked we had plans to meet up in Anaheim with some friends, (or so I thought) so we decided to find something to do in that area during the day. I had suggested to go to Fashion Island since it was in that area and I had never been. Little did I know he had something special planned in Newport.

On our way to Fashion Island, he missed the turn and kept driving to Newport. I told him that he missed it and he told me he found something else to do. He told me that he found a boat ride on Groupon and thought it sounded fun so he booked it. He wasn’t acting weird or nervous so I had no reason to suspect anything. He told us out reservation was at 3PM so we had some lunch then went over.

The boat ride turned out to be a gondola ride around the Newport canals. There were blankets and music that made it really romantic. The ride was about an hour, so for 40 minutes we sat and talked and enjoyed the view and each other’s company.

At the end of the ride there was a bottle floating in the water. I thought it was part of the boat ride and told Nick to pull it out of the water. He pulled it out and there was a note inside. He started to read the note as the boat started going into the dock. He was reading a letter he wrote about our relationship and how he felt about me and at that moment I knew what was happening.

The boat started to get closer to the dock and as it did I saw our family and friends waiting for us. On the boat, he pulled out the ring and got down on one knee and asked me to marry him. I said yes!

The proposal was everything we could have wanted and more and we are so excited to get married!

The Wedding Day.
