The office staff would like your help in recognizing our staff. Please take a few moments and use the link below to provide some encouragement to those folks that are making a major difference in your child's future. These comments can be anonymous, or you can provide your name. The office staff will use the provided comments every Thursday for our #thankfulThursday movement. The attached form can be completed, as little or often as you like, throughout the entire school year. We appreciate your support in growing the culture of gratitude that already exists at MIS!!
A comment shared this week:
"I am thankful for the time Mrs. Smith spends working with teachers, parents, students and our behavior coach to meet our fifth grade students' needs on a daily basis."
"Mrs. Sincroft, is always there for us students. She boosts our confidence to show us that we can do it. I know her goal is to see her students grow and to learn and myself/classmates are definitely exceeding that. She always makes us laugh and happy when going into her classroom. She especially loves to challenge us all to the best of our ability and be the best we can be. Mrs. Sincroft has changed my perspective in math so much and has made me love it again. If she wasn't my math teacher this year I would have struggled a lot and never would have been able to relieve my stress. Thank you so much Mrs. Sincroft!"
Math bowl news
If your child is interested in participating in math bowl this year, have them be on the lookout for try-out information next week. As with most everything this year, this will be a virtual after school opportunity, and there is a high probability the competition later this spring will be virtual as well.
Student council news
Over the past two weeks, the Maxwell student council has been collecting hats and gloves to help keep the students of Greenfield-Central K-6 Schools warm this winter. Due to the generosity of our MIS students, parents & staff, we collected a total of 135 new hats and pairs of gloves that will be shared with our elementary-aged friends in GC.
A critical ingredient in the safe school recipe is the classroom response to an incident at school. Weather events, fire, accidents, intruders and other threats to student safety are scenarios that are planned and trained for by students, teachers, staff and administration.
Standard Response Protocol: Our school has expanded the safety program to include the Standard Response Protocol - Extended (SRPx). The SRPx is based on these five actions: Lockout, Lockdown, Evacuate, Shelter and Hold.
Please take a moment to review these actions. More information regarding this topic can be found at http://iloveuguys.org.
Safe Schools Alert
SafeSchools Alert is our district's tip reporting service. If you have information about a threat to our safety, do your part and report it. Please remember, you can remain anonymous. Should you have a need to report an issue, please click on the link below for details on how to do so.

You shop online for what you are planning to purchase anyway and support our school. Simply go to www.schoolstore.com, select our school (School code: 8981) and let the shopping begin!! Feel free to share with family members and friends.
