In early December 2016, all CO staff in Thailand had a retreat together in Chiang Mai. It was a great time of updating our personal lives and ministries between the CO Chiang Mai and CO KhonKaen regions. I’m thankful for our staff and was so much encouraged by members of the Chiang Mai Team who serve the Lord in Thailand.
On our last event of the 1st semester we had an evangelism retreat called “the Christmas Trip.” Our goal was to share the real meaning of christmas with 20+ non-believers. It was a great opportunity for us to build student laborers as our staff support them to lead many activities of the activities and group discussions. Even though none of student came to christ in this trip, we had good personal conversations with many of the students whom we continue to follow up..
New Year New You. In January 2017, there have been 6 students who professed faith in Jesus Christ. Three of them were from the Christmas trip. Praise God! These professions of faith cause me to dwell more on His faithfulness. “I am the Lord; this is my name! I will not give my glory to another or my praise to idols.” Isa.42:8 Let God be glory in Khon Kaen.
We started the 2nd semester ministry by having a welcome party with 20 christian students at one of our staff family’s home. We’re very excited to see new believers grow up in their faith. We are also thrilled about the older student leaders as have grown in ownership of the campus ministry. Through them, there is much momentum on campus. Vision & Passion are the topics we are encouraging students to think about and invest in for the future.
