Marlee Glasgow Ready to join the u30x team

Hello u30x team!

I am writing to express my enthusiasm for the positions of Tour Manager and Experience Guide for Under30Experiences. I am entering my fourth year as the Marketing Director for Ocean First, a scuba diving, swim, and travel company in Colorado, and I am looking for a new career-building adventure where I can focus my enthusiasm and energy. I was fortunate enough to experience an Under30 trip to Costa Rica last spring, and the entire time I couldn't stop thinking about how well the mission and culture of your organization fit my vision for my life.

A large part of my job at Ocean First has been centered around getting our customers and employees jazzed about adventure and creating a sense of community among the rag-tag group of ocean enthusiasts who have decided to call Boulder, Colorado home. Some of my roles include organizing community events, managing our website, writing blogs, sending bi-monthly newsletters, managing our social media presence, and doing all of the graphic design work associated with those tasks.

While there isn't an ocean in Colorado, my work keeps me surrounded by ocean and travel lovers.

I find that collaboration is key; in my current position I work both with the department managers as well as independently, developing and executing marketing plans for every facet of the business. Some of the greatest joys in my career have been found in working as a member of a dynamic and enthusiastic team, and I am seeking job opportunities where I can work in team-based settings as well as be a leader in my own realm.

Working in the field with Under30Experiences and helping to further your mission of providing travel experiences to young adults would be a dream come true. My ideal work environment is one where no day is the same as the last; I thrive on variety and love finding order in the chaos. I am no stranger to adapting to new locations and cultures: I have been fortunate enough to have traveled to 19 different countries including over 15 trips to Mexico, a study abroad semester in Portugal, and a volunteer opportunity in rural Nicaragua.

Travel near and far makes my life a little brighter: Mexico, Belize, Switzerland, and beautiful Colorado.

I understand the importance of speaking Spanish as a member of your team, and here is the part where you will have to have faith in my word. I currently have a high school level grasp on the language, but if granted the opportunity to work with you I would begin intense Spanish lessons immediately. I graduated with a 3.8 GPA which should at least hint at my high level of work ethic and willingness to go the extra mile.

In closing, I am thrilled at the possibility of becoming involved with the U30x team and would love the opportunity to discuss the value that I can bring to the organization. I appreciate your consideration and look forward to hearing from you.
