This newsletter was shared with the supervisor RECE and shared with parents of the classroom
During this experience, trying out the guidance strategies from last semester and the ones learned in this semester was a one of main goals in every Faculty Supervisor Visit. I think Guidance Strategies are a useful tool that help us control and understand every group of children where we are working. Also, using guidance strategies as positive discipline method has many benefits for children’s social-emotional development. Using these strategies does not only benefit the children, but also the teacher’s and the parents. That is the reason why I believe that having the opportunity to implement these strategies will make me a better ECE.
This artifact allows me to share my learning about these strategies with parents, and in some cases help them to try new strategies to discipline and influence in positive ways children’s behavior. As the first Standard of our practice points out: “caring and nurturing relationships that supports learning”, create and maintain a positive relationship with families, and an open communication strengthen the relationship among this two parts. That was the reason I feel encouraged to construct this artifact, in order to offer parents with different resources that I believe it might help them.
Also, as the Code of Ethics points out, is our responsibility to offer support, and respond to children’s and their families concerns, as we develop developmental appropriate strategies for learning and we share with parents to help them achieve their potential.
