Hello and Bonjour!
The first week of the year is nearly over. I pray it's been a great start for you. It's definitely been wonderful for me. The first day I went paddle boarding with my family and my friend's new cute little puppy, Papi. It was my first time paddle boarding and it was just the most beautiful experience of 2018, so far. See what I did there. I'm so happy I pushed to do that as it's been quite cold here in Miami since and I've been pretty covered up. Thankfully that didn't hamper my week. In this first installment of The Weekly Review I share my favorite apps I'm using to keep focus this year, my current reads, and what Bible books I'm studying. Read on.
This week I've been enjoying the 3M Mindfulness app for a daily reminder to pause and take it in. I love this daily reminder to breathe and smile. Just getting the notification is enough to refous me and release any anxiety I might be holding onto. I'm also getting back to reading after not being able to make time during the holidays. First on my list is a fiction, Edgedancer. It's part of a series that I've been enjoying so hopefully I can dive right in.
Last year I learned that intense gym workouts are not for me. Although I don't have any weight-loss goals I certainly have physical wellness goals. My favorite form of physical wellness is a daily walk. I've shared my love for strolling before and it's by far my preferred form of mindful movement. I've also gotten back to using the Asana Rebel app to get my yoga fix and hopefully will soon return to doing free yoga at the beach and parks.
One of the things I discuss constantly with my friends is our Bible studying. So I know I'm not alone on the rollercoaster of studying and then life getting busy and we sorta just forget. So this year I'm following the Well-Watered Women resolve to put the Word before the world. Check out the hashtag #Wordbeforeworld on Instagram for more on that. Currently I'm studying 1 Samuel and 1 Kings using the Proverbs 31 Ministries app. More on this to come.
Lord, I pray that this weekend and the upcoming week fills us with Your joy and Your transcending peace so that we have the courage and Your grace to overcome any obstacle. Father, help us to remain focus on Your Will and Your Word. Guide our steps and our hearts to reflect Your love and faithfulness. In the name of Jesus. Amen.
Yours Always and Faithfully,
