Moorea-The Magical Island

A short flight from the Island of Tahiti and only 30 minutes by high-speed catamaran, Moorea is surrounded by a barrier reef and eight mountain peaks – What you would imagine a South Seas island to be.

A favorite for repeat visitors who enjoy peaceful meadows, waterfalls, beaches, upscale resorts with overwater bungalows and the only golf course in French Polynesia.

The beauty of Moorea is unforgettable.

A sheltered bay, a clear, turquoise lagoon, a serene setting between the mountains and the sea, it is paradise on Earth. Set on the northwest coast of the island of Moorea, amid 11 hectares of lush, unspoiled tropical terrain, the resort matches an idyllic island location with the comfort and luxury of spacious modern bungalows.

Ideal for nature lovers, the resort is nestled in a tranquil cove, with jagged volcanic peaks behind and the great expanse of the South Pacific in front. The beach is protected from the elements, the waters teem with sea life and the gardens bloom with more than 200 species of tropical plants and trees.

Less than a one hour flight from Tahiti, the Island of Bora Bora is considered by many to be the most beautiful and romantic with blue green lagoons, white sand beaches, luxury resorts and spas featuring overwater bungalows and world-renowned shopping for Tahitian black pearls.

Simply said, Bora Bora is the most beautiful island in the world.

One Bedroom Pool Beach Villa

Which is a better choice for families? My first recommendation would be Moorea because there is more to do with the children. Bora Bora is a mountain in the middle of the island surrounded by a lagoon and then ringed by motu's which have the hotels on them. While it is absolutely breathtaking, that's all there is to do, not much else. Very relaxing splashing in the water, snorkeling, SCUBA, and romance. It is known as the most romantic spot on Earth and most of the visitors are couples and honeymooners. Moorea is just as beautiful but has villages on the island and many things to do besides the water activities. It is only a half hour ferry ride to Papeete, the capital of Tahiti. This way you can do a day trip and go shopping and exploring. Bora Bora is almost an hour flight and then a half hour ferry from Papeete, so you will be staying there. Also important for the kids and snorkeling is that on Moorea the overwater bungalow have fish swimming below them and a reef nearby teeming with sea creatures, in Bora Bora it is just sand beneath the overwater bungalows.
