1 John 2:6 - Whoever claims to live in him must walk 🚶‍♂️ as Jesus did.
To walk like Jesus, you need to know what He is like.
DAY 5 - Be Humble Like Jesus
Matthew 21:6-11
The disciples went and did as Jesus had instructed them. They brought the donkey and the colt, placed their cloaks on them, and Jesus sat on them. A very large crowd spread their cloaks on the road, while others cut branches from the trees and spread them on the road. The crowds that went ahead of him and those that followed shouted,
“Hosanna to the Son of David!”
“Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord!”
“Hosanna in the highest!”
When Jesus entered Jerusalem, the whole city was stirred and asked, “Who is this?”
The crowds answered, “This is Jesus, the prophet from Nazareth in Galilee.”
Jesus, who is the highest One in the universe, is the most humble. Are you humble like Jesus? If you are not humble, you will...
- talk about yourself a lot
- talk about others in a critical way
- over-focus on your appearance
- desire praise from people
The opposite of humility is called pride. Do you see pride in you?
Apply
Ask God to show you if there is pride in your life. Does it show up in your relationships, in your thought-life or in the mirror?
If God reveals pride to you, take time to ask him for forgiveness. Tell him that you will turn from pride (repent) and walk with humility the way Jesus does.
Micah 6:8 - He has showed you, O man, what is good. And what does the Lord require of you? To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God.
