Kids Fest and the Spring Home Show Community Development Does Community Outreach

On Saturday, January 21st, the Community Development Department participated in the 10th Annual Peoria Kids Fest at the Civic Center.

With the help of Raven the Recycler, Community Development Staff interacted with children and their parents to promote the important of community involvement.
Over 1,000 "DON'T LITTER" pencils, toter pencil sharpeners, and educational pamphlets were distributed to emphasize the importance of a litter-free city.
When it comes to promoting recycling and saying NO to litter, Raven the Recycler is the MVP of the Community Development Department.

The 2017 Spring Home Show was a great opportunity for Peoria residents to get answers to simple building code questions.

Building Inspectors and Urban Planners from the Community Development Department staffed a booth at the 2017 Spring Home Show at the Civic Center from February 24-26.
This year the booth had over 800 visitors and one lucky winner received a Lowe's gift card.
Community Development staff answered questions about current and future planned development projects in town.

The Community Development Department will continue to expand community educational outreach efforts throughout 2017.
