Fire and Ice Angie diaz

Some say the world will end in fire,

Some say in ice.

From what I’ve tasted of desire

I hold with those who favor fire.

But if it had to perish twice,

I think I know enough of hate

To say that for destruction ice

Is also great

And would suffice.

The tone of the poem is accepting. The poem i accepting because he makes it seem like its a good thing. Whether if the world ends with fire or ice because they both end the same way . He is saying either way they both have the same purpose or ending.

I think the theme of the poem is destruction. The author is explaining how two forces have the potential to destroy the world such as fire and ice. when they talk about these two forces they refer fire to desire and ice to hate

Symbolism is that fire is suppose to represent desire and the dangers of it. To the point where your desire or wants can destroy the world. Ice represents hate which also destructs the world.
