The Buies Creek Astros (High-A MiLB affiliate of the Houston Astros) announced a two year partnership with Campbell Baseball, unveiling plans to construct a new synthetic turf field at Jim Perry Stadium for this upcoming season.
Southeastern Interiors and ProGrass Turf began massive improvements on the ballpark, from dugout renovations, construction of the Jim and Daphne Perry Pavilion to an entire resurfacing of the field tearing out the old grass piece by piece.
ProGrass Turf then leveled the field and applied the underlying surface in December, preparing the field for its final piece - the physical turf.

Here Comes The Turf - January 25, 2017
ProGrass Turf created the ProGrass HR Baseball 5-tool synthetic turf system by using a 2-inch pile height and three different infill mixtures. Together, these create a turf playing surface that replicates a natural baseball field's look and play.
Another important piece in the equation - the brand-new padded walls and signage.
Less than one month away from the start of the Campbell Baseball regular season, construction crews doubled and the #Progress at Jim Perry Stadium continued all around the ballpark.
The final stages of the turf were completed last week, including the instillation of the three different infill mixtures.
