Happy New Year! It is officially 2021 and we are so excited to be back on track! January’s race weekend took place on the Andretti (B) 4.0-mile course and graced us with perfect weather. To kick it all off, we had 15 Prototype and 15 Sports Car drivers on grid revved and ready to race!
The track buzzed with excitement once more as the track heated up! The battle has been fierce throughout the season so far and this was most apparent with the back-and-forth first place power struggle between Mitch Bishop and Tony Bullock. Mitch and Tony are only a mere 11 points of each other for the P3 class! Karen Wonnenberg has also held onto third place overall for the GT4 class in her very first season of wheel-to-wheel competition. We can’t wait to see who pulls forward at the end of the season to take home the winning trophy!
This weekend also saw the return of even more LMP3 cars on track! We had a total of five LMP3 vehicles at Spring Mountain, with three of them battling it out on track. The competition between Alan Miller, Ofir Levy, and Mel Johnson on Friday truly showed off the power of these beasts. Additionally, new track records were made this weekend in nearly every class!
