Wu Zhou of the Tang Dynasty came into power when the emperor died and kao tsung took over.

As a ruler she pushed a campaign that elevated the position of women in the Tang Dynasty.

She made women stronger politically, created Buddhist temples across the Tang Dynasty, she started a women's movement that gave them more respect among the men of the Tang Dynasty.
