Hundreds of walkers, runners and obstacle jumpers of all ages descended on Kingsland Point Park in Tarrytown on June 17 for the Foundation for the Public Schools of the Tarrytowns' 4th Annual Horseman Color Run, which changed its name this year to the Color Me Mud Run. Guess what that meant?
You got it. A mud run was added to the event along with an obstacle course that was age appropriate. What is it about getting covered in mud and a rainbow of colors that is so attractive to kids of all ages?
The popular event included a half-mile Little Kids Race, a one-mile Bigger Kids Race, and a 5K race. The course meandered through the picturesque park, along the Hudson River and around the Tarrytown Lighthouse. The event raises funds each year for the Foundation for the Public Schools of the Tarrytowns, which provides mini-grants to educators in the District for special projects, equipment and other needs.
