Bike Trip to Provence 10 days - October 2017

Buffy and I just returned from a biking trip to Provence, a birthday gift to her. The trip, six biking days and four days exploring on foot, was fabulous and one of our best.

The biking portion wove around the Provencial countryside with stops at historical or cultural sights of significance. On foot we spent a day in Marseille, two days in Aix-en-Provence and, at the end a day in Paris before our flight home.

There were breathtaking vistas.
In the backdrop through much of the trip was Mont Ventoux and the Rhône.
Pont du Gard
Of course any description of a trip to France must include a discussion of food and drink. In Provence great food and drink is not the exception.
Did I mention, it was a biking trip.
Aix-en-Provence was probably my favorite city.
The countryside was dominated by olive groves and vineyards.
Plane trees.
The vineyard worker’s lunch.
The small cities and towns are, dare I say, quaint.
A day is not enough for Marseille.
Nor is a day in Paris.
Until our next trip.
