"We've got magic to do........ Just for you,
We've got miracle plays to play
We've got parts to perform.... Hearts to warm
Kings and things to take by storm
As we go along our way."
Those are the lyrics to "Magic To Do," just one of the beautiful songs in the classic Stephen Schwartz musical, "Pippin," coming to Sleepy Hollow High School next week, March 30-April 1. The musical uses the premise of a mysterious performance troupe, led by a Leading Player, to tell the story of Pippin, a young prince on his search for meaning and significance.
We'll just let Pippin himself, senior Henry Titcomb, explain the plot.
The show, now in final stages of rehearsals, is being directed by Julie Colangelo-Dore with musical direction by Brittney Trenczer. Shows are Thursday, March 30, at 6:30 pm, Friday and Saturday, March 31 and April 1, both at 7:30 pm. Thursday night tickets are $10 for a family pack of four tickets, and FREE for seniors. Tickets for Friday and Saturday are $10 for adults and $5 for seniors and students.
In addition to Henry, the "Pippin" cast includes Jashon Sample as the Leading Player, Mary DelVecchio as Catherine, Peter Moriarty as Pippin's dad King Charlemagne, Helen Carr as Pippin's stepmother, Elise Johnson as Bertha, and a truly talented ensemble.
