Storm Response Pike Electric turns the lights back on after Hurricane Hermine

In the opening days of September, Pike Electric crews deployed in large numbers in preparation for combating outages and electrical infrastructure damage left in Hurricane Hermine's wake.
Hermine made landfall east of St. Mark's, Florida on Friday, September 2, working it's way north through the state and up the East coast over the following days.
Hermine's hurricane force winds downed trees and powerlines alike across the South East, resulting in 325,000 outages in Florida and 274,000 across Georgia, the Carolinas, and Virginia.
Pike crews were instrumental in restoring power to these affected areas.
Pike crews from all over the South East worked long hours over the weekend to help get residents' lives back to normal. Customer gratitude and thanks poured in through social media and email as the weekend progressed.
"I've noticed in the last four days Pike Electric crews have been working extremely hard to help us get our powerlines repaired. Just want to say thank you for coming over and helping us out we greatly appreciate it. Again thank you!" - Sammy - Quincy, FL
"I know its not much, but I would like to say a big Thank You!!! To all your Pike Electric Linemen. I know its was not easy to leave their families. But I am very grateful for all of y'alls work from N Carolina, S Carolina Kentucky and whom ever traveled along with them. I pray for their travels home and for them to be safe out on the roads" - Linda - Perry, FL

"Hi! I just wanted to say thank you to the Pike Line crew ... that helped restore power to my area in Taylor County FL. I believe they said they were out of Miami. I really appreciate the hard work they put in to getting things put back together after Hermine blew through here in North Florida. God knows those crews are handling things that are a risk on good days, let alone in driving rains and thunder storms that are common here in summer. Those crews rocked with flying colors!" - Alex - Perry, FL

"A huge "Thank You" to Pike Electric for coming to Crawfordville, Florida to help restore power to our community. I saw your crews working so very hard and I just want you all to know how much I appreciated you being here to help." - Phyllis

"THANK YOU Pike Electric!! We are so blessed to have you in Taylor County!" - Hope

Pike wishes to thank its linemen for their hard work and dedication to safely bringing the power back on!
