Abraham Lincoln was the 16th president of U.S.A. Abraham Lincoln was born on February 12,1809 in a one room log cabin in Kentucky.

In 1816 Abraham's family moved to Indiana. He read books and did chores. Abraham's mom died when he was 9 so he definitely had a hard childhood.

He became president when he was elected. He was elected in 1860. before he was a governor, senator, and a lawyer.

He made slavery free. In 1863 Abraham Lincoln signed the emancipation proclamation. It helped free many slaves. It was signed on January 1, 1863.

His school was In Kentucky 2 miles away from his house. He went to school for less than a year. His school was a one room school far away.
