Riding The rails

Pete Lemonson was a poor boy. He lived in Philadelphia before riding a train to New York City. He had no healthcare and lived wherever he can find warmth. He was searching everywhere for a job that actually pays him. He had the clothes on his back, a bag with a blanket and whatever he found along the way to New York. He lost his life savings of $5,000 in his favorite bank. He is currently 15 and has no home.

A week before his birthday, Pete found 5 jobs willing to pay him $15-$30 a month! He chose to enlist in the PWA. They paid $30 a month, enough to eat for a month save $2 and send $4 back to his parents per month. He also bought himself new clothes with his stockpiled money and then saved for a better life in the future.
