Can Jesus help when we start at a new school Theme five: being the best you can

"Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters, since you know that you will receive an inheritance from the Lord as a reward. It is the Lord Christ you are serving". Colossians 3 v 23 & 24

It's simple - do everything as if you're doing it for Jesus and you won't go far wrong. You won't always be the best, but you will always be doing the best you can. Keeping Jesus in all that you do will help you hugely to stay focused, to be organised, get the right balance between work, friends, sport, family and all the other things that you have to do and want to do. In Colossians (3 v 17) it says that whatever you do, in word or deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.

Action: Keep your eyes on Jesus by prayer and reading Gods word (we'll consider how you may do this in Tool Box - next session). Its up to you to work out where you need to think about this - school, home, friends, family.

Below are a couple of very short video clips from J.John that may help you to keep going (persevere) and to encourage you to gain a 'right' attitude towards your work.

God honours those that honour him - keep at it and remember that you are not alone as you work through things. He is always with you. None of us gets it right all of the time - that's just being human. Keep praying and keep at it. Remember always that not only is he with you at all times, but that he LOVES you and is always cheering you on.

And just because it's a great song - enjoy the below clip 'O Praise the Name' by Hillsongs
