RD Mindfulness Everything you need to know about mindfulness and relaxation

Mindfulness is when we pay attention to the present moment. Mindfulness is when we accept our thoughts and feelings without judging them. When we practice mindfulness, we become aware of our thoughts, feelings, bodily sensations, and surrounding environment without overthinking the past or the future.

Deep breathing is a great way to practise mindfulness and be "in the moment". Please watch the following videos that explain how to meditate and why meditation is useful for children and adults.

Positive affirmations are specific statements that you can use to overcome negative thoughts. Positive affirmations help you believe in yourself and help you see yourself in a more positive light. Pick some affirmations and practise saying them in front of the mirror everyday for a specific period of time (two weeks, one month, etc.)

Sometimes you might feel anxious or angry. If you feel angry, sad, or anxious, you can use the following steps to calm down. When you breathe in, you want your breath to go into your tummy so it gets bigger like a balloon. When you breathe out, you want to make the balloon deflate.

Here are 50 ways you can take a break when you are feeling anxious or overwhelmed.
