Introduction

Good Morning! My name is Jahanvi Chauhan, a grade 10 IBT student, attending North Park Secondary School's IBT Program, as you could have predicted. I am a very determined student and will always put everything I have into all of my work to get the result I desire. Even though I often start with unsatisfying marks in my subjects, I keep my head up and find a more effective way to raise my mark. I try to find the root of my problem and work from there, and also getting advice from others on how to improve. What makes me different is that I study differently to accommodate for different subjects. Today, I plan to walk you through my second year as an IBT student, as well as my future goals and how I plan to reach them. This allows me to look at how far I’ve gone in an organized fashion. The IBT Program opens up doors to find new ways to learn as well as how to deal with problems head on, and I am happy to be a part of it.

Teacher Assistant

I have been learning piano since I was 4 years old, and since then I have only improved and expanded my knowledge in music in general. With this, my piano teacher at Ontario Conservatory of Music selected me for the Teacher Assistant Program (TAP). For this, I am currently doing 10 months of training, 80 volunteer hours and once passing my exam, will be able to become a full time teacher assistant. This is a huge opportunity for me as I am able to easily get my first job, and have it be in a stream I enjoy.

Marine Biologist

Science has always been one of my preferred courses, and the ocean and its biology is one of my biggest interests. Putting these together, a Marine Biologist would be the ideal job for me. My determination would allow me to not only study the ocean, but also create innovative solutions to help the ocean wildlife. Working together with a team of others who share the same interest would greatly help us all succeed in learning about life in the ocean.
