The Task
You have been hired to write and perform a rap song that will help teach language features to students in another school. These students are struggling to understand and remember the language features, and through your rap you will be able to share your knowledge.
The rap will be around 2 minutues long and will include 5 of the language features we have covered in class (you will need to choose 5).
When writing your rap you will need to consider some of the things we will be covering in class including structure, beat, rhythm and ideas, and how we see these appear in rap.
Due date: We will aim to perform the raps around the 22nd of March!
Many different types of writing exist in the world, ranging from classic plays, to film scripts to raps These works may vary in tone, genre and type, but as pieces of writing, they should have one thing in common: a purpose.
Authors write for many different reasons. Those reasons are called the author's purpose. Depending on the purpose, authors may choose all different sorts of writing formats, genres and vernacular
TASK
Each of the following raps have been written and performed with a certain purpose in mind. It is your job to identify what the purpose of each wrap is, who it is written for and how we know this.
Some things to look for when identifying purpose and audience: Complexity of words, use of language features, narrative voice (who is speaking?), is the language casual or formal?
Questions:
What is this rap about?
What is it's purpose?
Who do we know?
Who is the intended audience of this rap?
How do we know?

What can I do to appeal to this audience?
What is the purpose of my rap?
