The Last Samurai By Takeshi Alvarez

One of my family clan (grandmother's side)

Why, The Last Samurai? Half of my heritage is Samurai and I really wanted to know how the reign of samurai ended.

It was very fascinating to know that the Satsuma Rebellion was lead by Saigo Takamori which he was considered a low-ranking samurai.

Nathan Algren was influenced by Capt. Jules Brunet a french military officer and took part during the Boshin War. Also samurai could be considered a head-cult; when they killed their enemies they would behead them and present them to their general to be inspected and rewarded.

Capt. Jules Brunet

Jules Brunet took part in the Boshin war and was originally tasked to be a military advisor for the Tokugawa Shogun.
