Nursing Grad Committed to Making a Difference in Community
“We need people who are passionate and invested in our communities and making positive changes in health care. We are making progress, slowly but surely.”
LaDarryl Banks graduated this spring from UA’s Capstone College of Nursing RN Mobility (RN to BSN) program. Committed to making a difference, he is an RN and office manager at Cahaba Medical Center’s West End location, a nonprofit Federally Qualified Health Care Center in Birmingham. He not only provides care to historically underserved populations but also works to improve their community, which he, too, calls home. bit.ly/GradLaDarrylBanks
Congratulations to CCN's 2021 College award recipients!
Thanks and Roll Tide!
Thank you to the generous donors who supported the Capstone College of Nursing during UA's 2021 Bama Blitz!
Over the course of Bama Blitz, 70 donors contributed over $10,000 to the Student Balance Relief Fund. Those gifts combined with pledged matches, helped raise over $20,000 for our 2021 passion project, significantly exceeding our original goal to raise $8,000 for the fund. Gifts to the Student Balance Relief Fund will help provide financial aid to nursing students with small balances on their accounts preventing them from continuing on in their education or completing their degrees.
To all those who gave to this fund or any others during Bama Blitz, we say thank you and Roll Tide!
