Cows are used for many different things including meat, milk, leather, medicine, glue, and soap.

On average, cows produce 80 gallons of milk a day.
Cows can live in hot or cold climates.

Cows are well adapted for grazing.

Cows helped the people in North America by supplying extra food and for pulling plows for easier farming. With receiving more food, people in North America could live longer and the population could grow trumendously.

Cows have affected diseases by carrying tuberculosis and spreading it through milk. Also there is BSE (mad cow disease or bovine spongiform encephalopathy) which is linked to a fatal human affecting brain disease. Therefore, any cows diagnosed with BSE are killed.

Cows where first brought to North America by the Vikings. Now there are over 1.3 billion cows in the world.
