The name of there country is Iceland, the capital is Reyjavik, the language they speak Icelandic, and location is in Northern Eourpoe

The date that Iceland got home rule granted was February 1, 1904

2 famous rulers were Vigdìs Finnbogadòttir and Jòañna Siguðardóttir

Some major events in there history were that U.S troops stayed there during WW II

It became self governed in 1918, then proclaimed it's independence in 1944.

In 1400 a plague killed a high percentage of people

Volcanos cause destruction in the 1600's to the 1700's

In 1973 volcano eruptions causes 5,000 people to be evacuated.

Geography of Iceland

Some major land forms of Iceland are Hvannadalshnuku volcano and the Vantaj okull glacier.

One major land form is The Great Geyser

Some major bodies of water are the Atlantic Ocean, the Norwegian Sea and the Blue Lagoon

Some major city's are Reykjavik, Kopavogur, Haffhafjordar, and Akareyji.

The population of Iceland is 334,300 as of 2016

Some modes of transportation are a car, a ferry, air, and bus

The cross design is after the Danish flag, and the red stands for the volcano's, the white stands for the snow, and the blue stands for the Atlantic.

When traveling to Iceland remember to:

  1. Plan ahead
  2. If driving, stick to appropriate roads
  3. Take a tour
  4. DO NOT drive off road

Native animals include:

  1. Dolphins
  2. Polar Bares
  3. Arctic Foxes

Some other facts are that they have no forests and a majority of Icelanders believe in elves
