Life @Parky October 2020

The Best Way to Begin in Prayer...

No matter what we pray for, thanksgiving can always go with it. A good habit to develop is starting all of our prayers with thanksgiving. An example of this would be:

“Thank You, Father, for all You have done in my life; You are awesome and I really love and appreciate You.”

I encourage you to examine your life, to pay attention to your thoughts and your words, and to see how much thanksgiving you express. Do you murmur and complain about things or are you thankful?

If you want a challenge, just try to get through an entire day without uttering one word of complaint. Develop an attitude of thanksgiving in every situation. In fact, just become outrageously thankful—and watch as your intimacy with God increases and He pours out greater blessings than ever before.

Mission News

SUPA Club, Mundaring Primary School

Dear Supporting Churches, thank you for your prayers and financial support.

We have continued sending “Thinking of You” letters to the kids as we are still not able to return to school, due to the Corona Virus. The school is restricting visitors due to social distancing and sanitisation requirements. The stories and activities sent out were sometimes in a colourful booklet form and other times on a page with a colouring. Each time we included a Supa Club prayer and a Bible verse for the kids to read.

In preparation for Christmas Cards for the school staff and other supporters, we asked some kids to draw/colour in some “candles”, which they did and sent back to us.

We have now 3 extra kids on our mailing list as both Robyn and I were prompted by God to ask some families and kids if they would like to receive Supa Club post, 2 girls are from Mundaring Primary school and one from another school.

Highlights this term were receiving encouraging feedback from some kids, some kids colouring and sending us the “teacher’s gift craft” back, and having 3 more children on our mailing list.

Some prayer points are:

  • Pray that the kids will enjoy getting the mail, reading it, doing the activities and growing in understanding of God’s love for them
  • Thank God for providing us with ideas to send out each time.
  • Please pray for the S.U.P.A. Club children and their families.
  • Please pray for the S.U.P.A. Club children and their families.
  • Pray too for the Mundaring Primary School, staff, other children and families.
  • Please pray that we as leaders trust God for His guidance for the coming year.

Greetings, Robyn Lawrence, and Josephine van Voorthuizen

Visit the Online Open Day webpage to watch unit overview videos, view the virtual campus and library tours, watch a mini lecture and view FAQs. As it is on the Vose website you can also look through current course options, timetables and fees.

Stamps Support Missions

Some people have been saving stamps for years and are unsure what to do with their collection. Global Interaction would really appreciate receiving them as they can be sold and the proceeds used for mission work.

If you have a stamps collection that you would like to donate or have even just been saving postage stamps, then please drop them off at the church office or give them to Rowan du Boulay.

Otherwise stamps can be dropped into the Global Interaction Office at 21 Rowe Ave, Rivervale.

Prayer Points

Praise God that we have been able to utilise the building and resources that He has given us to be part of the Scripture Union camp, reaching out to kids in our Perth area. Pray that lessons learnt will be held closely in the hearts of those who attended and remembered as God prompts their lives in the future.

Praise God that the spread of Covid over East has been reduced and contained so effectively. Pray for those who have experienced loss to reach out to their Creator at this time. Pray for restoration to our country and our world from the effects of the virus.

Pray for those affected by the landslides and flooding in Nepal, pray for protection from disease and a sense of community as the people there rebuild their homes and lives. Pray that the church fellowships there make a real impact both physically and spiritually with those around them.

Pray for Blokes as they meet this month and minister to the men in our community.

Pray for refreshment and relaxation for the kids and teachers on school holidays in October. Give thanks for the dedication of our teachers in educating the next generation of leaders and workers in our country.

Pray for our next members' meeting as reports are produced by our leaders and decisions are made by our members. Give thanks for the leaders in our church and pray for wisdom as they guide Parky through this time.

Pray for a stirring of God's people at Parky to prayer and to action in furthering His kingdom.

Continue to thank God for each and every one of our church family and the blessing it is to be able to meet in person with one purpose.

Continue to give thanks for the way the Parky Care Team have committed to helping the Bhutanese students with food and care parcels whilst they look for work to support themselves through this period. Give thanks for the generosity of our people @Parky in providing the items needed each week.

Continue to pray for God's prompting on our church family, for people to step up and fill gaps in our volunteer ranks.

Continue to pray for provision to meet our financial needs this year. Pray for continued wisdom in our financial management and generosity in spirit as a church.

Continue to pray for those who are grieving, unwell or recovering from injury.

Continue to pray for the missionaries we support as a church, for God’s protection & blessing over them as they bless those around them.
