Skills i need....

I will have to be able to handle calmly and confidently, to be able to be understanding and sympathetic with pet owners and to also be able to take notes and have IT skills

the subjects i need..

i will need a total of five GCSE'S including maths, English, science and an alternative 2 others i will also have to score a grade c or higher

Different career paths...

With more experience i could take on practice manager, supervising and training new staff or even veterinarian supplies maybe even zoological and wildlife care.

what i will have to do on the job...

On a day to day basis you will have to speak to the animal owners to find out the problem, take bloods and urine samples, be able to take out stitches and give injections, taking x-rays and get animals ready for treatment and assist vets during the treatment, take care of in patients, explain to owners how to take care o the animal supervise and train other staff and help keep records up to date

Typical hours worked...

you usually work 30-45 hours a week including evenings and weekends you will get protective clothing and a unifrom

how much you earn doing this job...

when your a starter nurse you will earn £18,000 to £20,000 when your more experienced you will earn a £21,000 to £24,000 then when you become a senior nurse you earn £26,00
