Day of Caring

On Sept. 12, over 500 juniors boarded buses and headed out into the community as part of CG's annual Day of Caring. Students did everything from weeding baseball diamonds to repainting an iconic White River Township landmark to interacting with senior citizens in retirement communities. No matter where students went, they spent the day giving back.

Mulching the playground, juniors Jessie Beaver and Kearstyn Carpenter work in the front of Crabapple Creek. "Day of Caring is a day to give back to the community and make Center Grove a better area," said Beaver.
Junior Katelyn Mitchell repaints over faded letters at Stewart family barn. The semi-historic landmark is iconic to members of the White River Township community.
Junior Seth Owens pulls weeds around the CG Little League Baseball Diamonds. "Today we are doing service to help the community and make it better for everyone. For me it makes me feel like I'm a better person, helping out everybody and making everything nicer," said Owens.
Junior Dustin Hensman helps White River Fire Department #53 by cleaning the front of one of the fire trucks.
Juniors Cameron Petty, Alec Sepaniak, Brilee Reffett and Alexis Sichting ride around the Center Grove Little League fields collecting banners and tarps that were hung this season.
Junior Sarah Hinton helps the White River fire department package information about fire safety for local elementary schools.
