Our fourth graders hosted Math Facts and Friends last week! They played a game of Multi-Digit Subtraction Battle while enjoying a donut and milk. Parents got to watch a video of students doing a Number Talk (see video below) with their teachers. In Number Talks, students share their thought process that they used to solve a math problem mentally. They wrapped up by playing a game of Addition Number Battle.
The purpose of Math Facts and Friends is to share strategies that parents can use at home to help their child build number sense. Each family receives a booklet of fun math games to play at home.
