What Is Cricket?

Cricket is a sport that is played all over the world with a leather and cork sphere ball and a bat that is made out of Kashmir or English willow wood. Some of the best cricket countries are India, Australia, Pakistan, England and Sri Lanka.

Levels Of Cricket in Australia

: Test matches are games between the best teams from 2 countries, played over 5 days. They are regarded as the ultimate game for a cricketer. :First class cricket games are played over 3 to 4 days. They include Tests and Pura Cup matches in Australia. County cricket in England is the equivalent to Pura Cup matches. : One day international matches are limited over matches. Each game is restricted to 100 overs, 50 overs for each batting over side. The first One day international match was played in Melbourne in 1971.


As you can see cricket bats are very important in the game of cricket. The 2 types of wood that are used to make cricket bats are English Willow and Kashmir Willow.

In cricket balls are as important as cricket bats. They are made of an inside of cork then 5 layers of string is wrapped around them. 2 leather halves of the ball are stitched together around the cork sphere. Then it is tested and checked for game conditions
