Alexandra Doubles

Hey y'all! I'm Alexandra Doubles, but I like to go by "Alex" because when I was younger I was too lazy to write my whole name. I have 3 big brothers and 1 older sister. One important thing to know about me is that I lost both of my parents, so family has become a huge deal to me. My siblings are my absolute world.

I have always worked extremely hard in school and that effort got me where I am today. I graduated as salutatorian from a magnet high school, but my dreams do not stop there...

I have two big goals for myself, the first to become an Occupational Therapist. An OT has a similar job to a Physical Therapist, but they focus on not only getting someone back to good physical health, but also good mental health. OT's help people to be able to live every day life and they tend to form very strong relationships with their patients. I personally love to help people, so I feel this job is perfect for me.

My next goal is to have a happy family. As I mentioned before, family is very important to me. I absolutely adore children, which I learned through interacting with my 3 nieces and 2 nephews. I hope to one day get married and have an awesome family. I just want my kids to know how loved they are, because my mom always made it clear that she loved me more than anything in the world. I want to be a lot like her one day.

All of my nieces and nephews are pictured and in the top right you can see my mom and I. She really loved Clemson, as you can see.

I also hope for my family and I to live in the country and rescue animals. My mom always loved animals and she passed that on to me.

This is my Boykin Spaniel, Bubba. I rescued him after he was abused and thrown out.

My definition of happiness is being surrounded by people that care about you. I feel most happy when I am cared about. I also believe that happiness is a choice. I believe that you can choose to be happy in the worst of situations.

Me with my brothers (Michael and William) and my mom. Being with my family makes me so happy.

I chose to come to college because I knew there was no way for me to make something of myself without college. My mom always stressed to me the importance of college, so I never once considered not going. I also have always loved Clemson, so it was an easy choice. This was the only school I applied to besides one back-up school, and I am so happy to be here!!!

On the left, you can see young me all sweaty from cheering and decked out in a cheer uniform after a Clemson game. Then on the right, you can see me and some of my friends celebrating Clemson's victory over Louisville last year.
