Hi everyone! Sarah, Audrey and Anne Marie reporting from the Reykjavik airport. We can’t believe how fast this trip went; it was jam-packed with outdoor adventures, lots of laughs and life-long memories.
We have been fundraising and looking forward to this trip for so long, and the entire volleyball program wants to thank our families, the department and any volleyball supporter who made this trip possible. The memories will be ones we will never forget.
This trip gave us the opportunity to experience the culture, people and lifestyle of Iceland in a way that we never thought could be possible. Each and every waterfall we saw took our breath away. Iceland’s nature is truly jaw-dropping and memorable.
A team favorite was the Icelandic horses we got to pet and spend time with. Some of us were even brave enough to take a ride!
Even though Iceland’s temperature was not one typical for a spring break trip, the Icelandic thermal baths warmed us up, and the beautiful scenery made all the snow worth it.
This past season was such a special one for us, so the opportunity to spend more time together is something that we are so grateful for. Even after seven long days together, we all spent our last few hours in Reykjavik crammed in a tiny hotel room telling funny stories and reminiscing about times together.
The team went around a circle, reflecting on how great our seniors, Sarah and Audrey, are and how much they mean to the team. This was a perfect way to spend our last night together as this team.
Thanks again to everyone who helped make this trip possible. We are so excited to head back to Chicago and get in the gym together for spring season (and meet our new assistant coach, Mitchell!).
