FOOD & BEVERAGE All menu items and pricing are subject to seasonal and market availability. If necessary, comparable substitutions will be made with no increase to the contracted menu price.
MINIMUMS Food & Beverages Minimum Spend Requirements are set for each special event space and are dependent on the season, day of week, timing and scope of your event. Please inquire with your Private Dining Coordinator. Any shortfall of your contracted food & beverage minimum would be charged as a room rental fee. Gratuity, administrative fees, incidental charges and sales tax do not count towards the minimum expenditure required.
PLATED DINNER MEALS For parties of 12-30, guests may select their entrees at the table, from the list of (4) entrees that you will pre-select from the options above. Parties of over 30 must ask guests to pre-select exact entrees in advance and provide a count of each entree to HMK 10 Days in advance. Please ask your guests to note any special dietary restrictions. Place cards and seating chart are necessary when entrees are pre-selected.
GUARANTEES HMK requests an estimated headcount (30) days prior and an update (7) days prior to order and staff accordingly. A guaranteed guest count must be confirmed 3 days prior to your event, along with a confirmed guest arrival and order time. No-shows on a guaranteed count will be charged full price of the set menu. You will be charged for the guarantee count or the actual number in attendance, whichever is greater.
CONFIRMATION All reservations will remain tentative until an agreement form has been completed and returned to our office. A signed agreement is required to confirm all reservations of 12+ guests and/or in special event spaces.
DEPOSIT A deposit equal to 50% of your food & beverage minimum is due by (30) days prior to your event. A credit card will be required to guarantee the reservation.
PAYMENT Humble Market Kitchin does not provide separate checks for parties over 12. Your total charges may be split into specific dollar amounts charged to separate credit cards, if needed. By signing an event agreement, Client agrees and authorizes Humble Market Kitchin to charge Client credit card provided for final payment at event conclusion, or for any cancellation fees, as outlined in the section below. HMK does not accept post-event payment. All payment must be settled at the conclusion of / on the evening of your event.
CANCELLATION POLICY For Opelu, Limu and Kumu Private Dining Rooms: If there is a cancellation within fourteen (14) days, a cancellation fee equal to one half of the contracted food and beverage minimum will be charged.
For Makai Ballroom or full restaurant buyouts: If there is a cancellation within thirty (30) days, a cancellation fee equal to one half of the contracted food and beverage minimum will be charged.
Cancellations made within three (3) business days of the event date will result in a cancellation fee equal to the contracted food and beverage minimum, or for the number of guests originally contracted for, whichever is greater.
LEGAL DRINKING AGE The state of Hawaii has a legal drinking age of 21. Guests will be asked for ID. All bar and liquor costs are based on consumption.
WINE Order for pre-selection of wines must be placed two weeks in advance to ensure availability. Maui County liquor laws allow guests to bring their own wine. We permit a maximum of one 750 ml bottle of wine per person and the wine must not be on our current wine list. There is a corkage fee of $30 per bottle.
DECORATION Place cards and table favors may be provided for our staff to place on the tables if you do not have a wedding coordinator or family member to do so. All items must be unwrapped, assembled and ready to place on tables. If you wish to set your own décor our staff will have tables ready for decoration approximately 45 minutes prior to start time. All items delivered must be clearly marked with the name and date of event and include setup instructions. Please deliver to the manager on duty on day of event. Fees may apply to any additional décor requests.
Standard table set-up consists of plates, glassware and silverware. Confetti is not allowed. A guest book table is available upon request for no additional fee. Humble Market Kitchin is not responsible for any décor items left at the end of your event. Table set-up will be determined by the final size of your party. Additional table rental fee may apply if special type or shape is requested.
LINENS Are available upon request for a fee of $1 per person.
CAKES You are welcome to bring in a cake from a local baker, we work with Maui Wedding Cakes www.mauiweddingcakes.com who will deliver your cake to Humble Market Kithin the day of your event. We charge a $3.00 per person cake plating fee on all cakes not purchased through Humble Market Kitchin.
TIME RESTRICTIONS Due to the volume of service during our peak restaurant hours we wish to be able to provide the best experience possible for our guests. We urge parties in excess of 15 people consider reservations of 6 PM and earlier or 8 PM and later. We will do our best to accommodate circumstances that call for an overlap into our peak dining periods, including ideas such as preliminary cocktail gatherings and preordering on set menus, if the resulting booking will maintain service standards for all guests. All events must end by 11 PM. The Wailea Beach Resort has a strict noise curfew of 10 PM.
TAXES & FEES All food and beverage is subject to an administration fee of 3%, which does not represent compensation, gratuity, or service charge for the restaurant service staff. A bartender fee of $150+ tax per hour per 100 guests may apply, if necessary (as outlined in the payment section above). Cake cutting, linen or table rental fees may apply (as outlined in the sections above). A room rental fee may apply, should the event fall short of your contracted food and beverage minimum. Any removal or relocation of Humble Market Kitchin’s existing furniture will be subject to additional labor fees. All food, beverage, room rental, contracted audio visual, decoration, outside cakes, rental charges and administration fees are subject to state sales tax. A standard gratuity of 20% will be added to the client's final bill.
