Opening Weekend might have been a little delayed due to weather, but nothing can rain on this teams parade.

Daulton Jefferies made his California League debut look easy in the final game of the Ports vs. Quakes series. After giving up just two hits he went on to retire the final ten batters he faced. In four innings of work he gave up 2 hits, no runs, and struck out two.

Stockton took the lead early as Seth Brown hit a two-out solo homerun to right off Stockton native, Dean Kremer.

Evan Manarino took over for Jefferies in the fifth and retired the first five batters he faced. After a pair of doubles the Quakes tied the game 1-1.

The Ports ended their first homestand with a three game series vs the Modesto Nuts. Your Stockton Ports took the series 2 games to 1. Check out the highlights here!👇

AJ Puk made his California League debut in game one of the series and to say he was anything short of great would be just silly. He gave up two singles to start the game but then proceeded to retire the next seven batters faced.

Catcher Sean Murphy was nothing short of a star. He started off the scoring in the second with his first, yes first, homerun of the night. After a series of one-out singles and another Stockton homerun, Murphy lined one into left to secure his second Homerun of the night.

High Fives for all when you hit back-to-back 💣!

Coming into the game in the 5th to make his California League debut was Dustin Hurlbutt. He would go on to pick up the win after allowing two runs on four hits in three innings.

Chris Iriart is all smiles after hitting his first bomb of the season helping the Ports to a 8-3 win over the Modesto Nuts.

The Ports put on a good show for the first Scan Health Plan Silver Sluggers night of the year. Modesto jumped out to an early 2-0 lead but Stockton answered with a 5-0 run to take game three 5-2.
Back-to-back triples from Bolt and Gilbert made it a 4-2 ballgame. A sac fly from Branden Cogswell would bring home Bolt and score the final run of the game.
The Ports return home this Friday as they take on the San Jose Giants. Don't miss the upcoming promotions! We've got Freebie Friday on the 21st (first 1,000 fans can get Stockton Ports socks!), Asparagus Night with a jersey auction and fireworks on the 22nd, and everyone's favorite... Bark in the Ballpark on Sunday the 23rd.
Our super photographer, Meghan, traveled all the way to San Jose to capture some great memories of the men on the road. We think she should make the trips more often because she seems to be good luck! Stockton took game three 6-3 while she was in attendance. Take a look at some highlights here!

In his third appearance of the year, RHP Brett Graves tossed four scoreless innings and allowed just three hits. Get to know Brett Graves in this next homestand's Gameday Magazine!

Catcher Iolana Akau set up the first run of the game with a one-out double after a walk and a single. Bases loaded. Seth Brown would reach on a fielder's choice and Stockton would take the lead 1-0.

Graves would be followed by Casey Meisner, Matt Sergey, & Nolan Blackwood. Meisner went 3.2 innings and allowed three runs on five hits while striking out five. Sergey got out of a jam with a strikeout to end his appearance. Blackwood would come in to close the game and record his second save of the year.
Seth Brown continues to shine as he sent a bomb out over right field to score two. With 13 hits in the game, Mikey White, Eli White, Brown, Akau, Ramirez and Siddall all played a role in this 6-3 victory.

The Ports fell in the series 2-1 and head to Modesto, Ca to take on the Nuts for a four game series. They begin their second homestand of the year on Friday, April 21st and our joined by Sonny Gray in a rehab appearance on Saturday, April 22nd.

April 23rd, 2017 --- Asparagus Night

Last year, the Stockton Ports were recognized for having one of the best promotional nights in MiLB for their Asparagus Night. This year, we decided to try it again! Here's a look at all the best parts of the night: asparagus jerseys, a Sonny Gray rehab appearance, a crowd of 5,441, and a Ports win.

Gray would make an impressive appearance at Banner Island Ballpark, to say the least. Retiring 15 of 16 batters faced in 5 innings pitched, allowing just one single, and striking out six he left the game with a 2-0 Ports lead.

A lead that was kicked off by an RBI single from Branden Cogwell to deep right that would allow two to score.

Gray would be followed by Hurlbutt and Manarino, who each had equally as impressive nights. With a combined scoreless 4 innings, Hurlbutt would allow no hits in 2 innings and Manarino allowed just 2 hits but struck out four.

The Ports would go on to win 7-0.
