A few months ago, Jarell started having difficult breathing and with this, he was scheduled to have surgery on his spine to further avoid puncturing his lungs and heart. He was admitted on March 8, 2017 at The Medical City Hospital to undergo all the tests recommended by surgeons. Unfortunately, when he was admitted to the hospital conditioning his body for surgery, the doctors decided to support him with oxygen. However, the oxygen did him more damage than good as he fell into coma for 12 hours. He had to use a mechanical ventilator to breathe. In addition, the doctors had to cancel his spine surgery as his body was not in the right condition. Therefore, Jarell had to undergo Tracheostomy to help him breathe and Percutaneous Endoscopic Gastronomy that helps him intake food.
As we share his story now, Jarell is still in the Intensive Care Unit for observation until all his vital signs are stable.
Through all this medical procedures, the physical pain and setbacks, Jarell remained positive. He continues to fight, putting a brave face with his spirit remaining strong.
Jarell and his family needs your help, as his family will bring him home after his confinement. Your help will finance his maintenance such as oxygen, hospital bills and his therapy. His estimated hospital bills now reached almost 3 million pesos including the doctors fee. His fees are still growing as he is still admitted.
To raise money, Jarell and his family hosted events such as Zumba and Bazaar. The Bazaar was held at St. Raphaela Mary School at GSIS Hills Subdivision, Caloocan City on April 21-23. The Bazaar focused onto selling brand new and used clothes donated from various people. It conducted for 2-3 days in which became successful as the team (friends) raised up to 7k. There were also food and drinks to accomodate people passing by.
