Unit Details
  • 5 labs; 3 Cath labs, 2 EP labs
  • 8 bed holding room (Pre/post)
  • Circulate and/or recorder (XPER) primarily for Cardiac Cath procedures, including devices such as permanent and temporary Pacemakers, Cardioversions. There may also be a need to circulate simple EP procedures when needed and assist with transport. May assist with dialysis catheter placement and fistulagrams
  • EPIC for electronic medical record.
  • Phillip XPER for Cath lab documentation.
  • GE Innova x-ray equipment; RN will not scrub and/or pan
  • Alaris infusion pumps
  • Pyxis med cabinets, pyxis stock cabinets
  • Medtronic temporary pacing generators.
  • Med Rad pwer injectors
  • Heart Mate Z LVADS
  • Volcano IVUS and FFR
  • Regular business hours : M-F 0730-1600
  • 8-9 late shifts (overtime) to be self-scheduled coordinating with other call team members. Late shifts are for procedures that go past 1600. If procedure extends past 1730, call team will be called in.
  • 8-10 on call shifts (depending on staffing level due to openings). Of those, F/SA/Su sign up required monthly. Clinical Educator will determine with the employee when employee demonstrates level of competence needed and comfort level. Employee will not take more on call shifts than rest of staff and may not take on “traded shifts”.
  • Call team composed of three staff members. Either 1 RN, 2 CVT or 2 RN, 1 CVT.
  • Department averages 12-20 patients/day
  • Pre/post of area with dedicated staff for Cath/EP procedures; however may assist in this area
