WHAT IS IT??

Hepatitis b is a viric cronic illness transmitted by blood, saliva or semen that causes an inflammation of the liver and has as one of its main symptoms: the jaundice.

SYMPTOMS

As well as jaundice (whites of your eyes) there are some other symptoms:

  • has abdominal pain,
  • dark urine,
  • fever,
  • joint pain,
  • loss of apetite,
  • nause and vomiting,
  • weakness and fatigue
  • and yellowing of your skin.

TREATMENTS

Get a shot of hepatitis B immunoglobulin and the first of three shots of theĀ hepatitis B vaccine.

Home treatment-such as eating well, drinking plenty of fluids, and avoiding alcohol and drugs-usually will relieve your symptoms.

You may be given medicine to treat an acute infection (isn't done unless a person is very sick)
