MENDEL'S EXCEPTIONS CREATED BY LUKE SPINE

Incomplete Dominance

Incomplete dominance is situation in which one allele is not completely dominant over another allele. In this example, white and red alleles have combined to make pink.

CODIMINANCE

Codominance is situation in which the phenotypes produced by both alleles are completely expressed. In this example, both red and white alleles are sharing dominance.

MULTIPLE ALLELES

This is when there are multiple possible alleles for a single gene. In this example, there are many different eye colors.

POLYGENIC TRAITS

A polygenic trait is a trait controlled by two or more genes. Skin color is controlled by a few genes.

ENVIRONMENTAL FACTORS

Environmental factors can influence phonotype as well as genotype. Temperature and sun exposure are big ones in this category.
