Potential, a word of Latin origins meaning to be able and to have the power. In short it is an ability you have to change the future, power in your hands to change the path you are on.

It was this concept that really challenged and empowered the students during this week. The biggest revelation was that even though we have big dreams and ambitions, the potential that lies within us are so much more than that, and even bigger is the plans that the Lord has for each one of us. Jeremiah 29:11 says: For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future”

In each of us He has placed the ability and the power to accomplish so much more than we ever could have dreamed about. He has placed the potential inside of you to be discovered, to be explored and to be shared.

I am speaking for all of us when I say that If I understand what the potential is that lies within me, and if I am authentic in using these unique gifts that only I have, then I can impact and change the world around me and live out the plans that God has envisioned about me long before time.

We also discussed that we, ourselves are our own greatest enemy after watching a teaching of late Dr. Myles Munroe where he states that the richest place on earth is the cemetery because of all of the unlived dreams that lies there, buried with people who never understood their own authenticity and potential, and we are left with a challenge of living out everything placed within us or becoming one of those rich people who were too afraid to really live. So, what are your dreams, aspirations and ambitions? Are they big enough to scare you into acting on them? Or are you standing in the way of your dreams and being your greatest enemy?

We hope that this encourages you to take charge of the dreams that are in your heart, realizing that you are the only one in charge of your future, and that what is coming is much bigger than you ever could have expected it to be, but only you can change the future you have.
