Digital Intelligence (DQ) is the sum of social, emotional and cognitive abilities essential to digital life. It is having the necessary knowledge, skills and ability to adapt one’s emotions and adjust one’s behavior to deal with the challenges and demands of the digital era. The goal of DQ is to empower every child so that they become Digital Leaders – individuals who are anchored by a strong identity and positive values and, by being masters of technology, are capable of creating new opportunities for a better future.

Help students develop their digital intelligence.

The first phase of the DQ Curriculum focuses on developing Digital Citizenship in young children. Eight aspects of digital citizenship have been identified: digital citizen identity, screen time management, digital footprint management, cyber bullying management, digital empathy, critical thinking, privacy management and cyber security management. DQWorld.net is an online and mobile e-learning platform, recommended for children ages 9-12, to learn independently in a fun way.

Digital Learning Pathways: Personalized Professional Learning

ISTE is now offering Digital Learning Pathways.

Digital Learning Pathways are similar to courses, but they are developed so that users DO NOT have to (1) interact with content in the same order, (2) review all of the materials presented, and (3) review materials in the same modality as other learners. They are professional development materials that are focused on helping build a common frame for implementing and supporting the ISTE Standards, and digital age learning in general. This frame is based on research, best practice, and sustainable innovations at the classroom level. ISTE has strategically partnered to provide you with relevant, just in time, professional learning where at least 80% of the course content can’t be found anywhere else. These rich materials, real-life examples of digital learning, and practical approaches will help any teacher in any school move the needle for their students as they shift from traditional to transformative practices that empower and engage today’s digital learners. Only one course is currently available, Empowered Learner, but more courses focused on the other ISTE Standards will be available in the future.

Self-paced learning around Google Apps

BADGEQUEST is a self-paced training site for Google Apps for Education/G Suite. Each training module comprises three levels. Each level provides participants with useful videos and performance tasks. After all three levels of a training module are successfully completed, the diligent participant is awarded a badge. The badge should be displayed with pride! Follow the link to get started.
