Caroline Casper Named SCIAC Athlete of the Week

March 6, 2017, Claremont, CA

Casper was named AOW after finishing 6-0 at the ITA DIII Team Indoor National Championships, leading the No. 6 Sagehens to a runner-up finish.

Sophia Hui Earns SCIAC Athlete of the Week Honors

March 8, 2017, Claremont, CA

Hui finished as the top placer for the Sagehens at the Las Vegas Desert Classic. The sophomore finished tied for 26th place individually and the team finished in 11th.

The Sagehens crushed the Beavers in their SCIAC Opener.

Women's Track and Field Impress at Occidental

March 10, 2017 Los Angeles, CA

The Sagehens set several personal bests in Los Angeles.

Highlights

  • Jessica Finn, won the javelin with a throw of 129-08, the best mark of the year in NCAA Division III
  • Kaile Sauro, personal record in the 800 meter (2:22.74)
  • Waylon Henggeler, personal record in the 3000 meter steeplechase (12:35.87)

Men's Track and Field Shine in Eagle Rock

March 10, Los Angeles, CA

Highlights

  • Calvin Aylward – Javelin, new Pomona-Pitzer record, 211-09
  • Paul Messana– 800 meter, posted fasted time in DIII this year, 1:52.08
  • Andy Reischling – 5000 meter, 4th fastest time in program history, 14:29.25
  • Faraaz Rashidi – 100 meter, 9th fastest time in program history, 11.12

Maya Weigel Places 3rd at NCAA DIII Indoor National Championships

March 11, 2017 Naperville, IL

The senior added another accolade to her stellar career. After winning her preliminary heat, Weigel qualified for the National Championship race where she took third place with a time of 4:54.87, which was just .86 away from second place

The Sagehens rode a big 1st inning to a win over their rivals.
