Open Doors to All A very special ‘how the grinch stole Christmas’ at DPAC

DPAC & Dr. Seuss’ ‘How the Grinch Stole Christmas! The Musical’ Broadway tour presented a special sensory-friendly experience for families. It was not only a calmer experience for kids & adults with special needs like autism, but it also gave a memorable day out for siblings and parents.

There were lots of smiles & personality in the house.
Volunteers came out in force, including groups from the Duke School of Nursing, Duke Autism Center & all over the Durham community... and of course there were awesome sponsors like Duke Health.
Families had a chance to get a fun snap from our roving photographers & download/share on Facebook that night.
Success!
There were thoughtful accommodations like quiet areas in the lobby, and quieter music/less strobing lights during the performance.
DPAC staff know how to show the love
Everyone felt welcomed & special
What great memories...
