Building Blocks of Life Science Set 2 (8 books)

The Building Blocks series was co-created by Samuel Hiti, edited by Cassie Meyer, Kendra Muntz, and Paul Kobasa, and published by World Book, Inc.

colorful science-based graphic story-telling breathes life into the current STEM curriculum.

Building blocks of MATHEMATICS

Building Blocks of Mathematics (6 books)
The concept is to provide a fun, interactive way for children to learn the basic skills and building blocks of mathematics through the use of comic-book style illustrations and story problems. Each of the six volumes addresses a different mathematical concept: addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions, and numbers. Made up mostly of story problems, this work will help students conceptualize mathematical operations and learn new techniques for solving math problems found in real-life situations. The contents reflect state learning standards for mathematics, making these books useful for elementary and middle school libraries and classrooms. Each volume concludes with a list of additional resources (books and Websites), as well as a list of educator resources. -American Reference Books Annual

Building Blocks of LIFE SCIENCE

Building Blocks of Life Science Set 1 (8 books)
If you are looking for titles that describe every part of the body in an easy-to-follow manner, this set is for you. The layout of each volume is a graphic novel with illustrations of talking body parts and cells leading students through the system they are exploring. It allows for an easy understanding of our complex bodies. Reproduction is mentioned in detail in several of the books. Teachers can use specific parts of the books to supplement their teaching. Overall, this is a great set with a lot of valuable information for middle and upper grade levels. -Neely Swygert, Teacher/Librarian, Batesburg-Leesville (South Carolina) Elementary School
