Third Grade

We are concluding Math Unit 4 this week and we will have our Unit test next week. We’re nearing the end of our Native American unit of study and have learned about some of the similarities and differences of these Early Americans. We are all writing stories and writing for many different purposes. We continue to work on stretching our sentences to include descriptive words and phrases, making sure we include capitalization and punctuation and always aiming for solid paragraphs. Continue using Xtra Math daily to practice basic facts. Our focus in 3rd Grade is memorization of multiplication facts. At this point of the year, students should know their 2s, 5s, 10s and doubles.

Many thanks to our fully virtual learner's parents that are planning to come for our next pick up that is scheduled for Thursday, 1/21/21. Simply come into the lobby of the school to drop off your child's returned items and pick up your child's bag of new supplies. The hours of the pick up from 10:00 am - 2:00 pm and again from 4:00 - 5:00 pm.

In Everyday Math we are testing Unit 3 on Thursday or Friday of this week. Refer to your child's Unit 3 book (pages 1 & 2) for ways to help your child prepare for this test.

We're starting to wrap up our Social Studies unit so be sure to drop off your child's text book (virtual learners) or have your child return their book to school (hybrid learners). They will be getting their new textbook and workbook for our first Science unit, Energy.
