Time:

  • ? Quê hora es?: means what time is it?
  • from 1:00-1:59 when you are telling time in spanish you use Es La anytime besides that you use Son las. So say it was 5:00pm you would say Son Las cinco, if it was 1:30pm you would say Es La uno y media.
  • media means half or in other words 30 minutes
  • cuarto means 1/4 or 15mins
  • menes means minus
  • minuto means minute and hofa means hour
  • Say it was 6:15 pm you would say Son Las sies y cuarto

Estar: to be. When using estar you go by PLACE: position, location, action, condition, and emotion
