Leaf

Colored Pencil, Watercolor, Sharpie

When I heard "Leaf" I thought of a lion who's mane is made up of leaves. I did not want to do a realistic piece so I decided to do something more cartoony that I would enjoy doing. First, I made an outline of the lion and then I decided to do zentangle in certain areas of the lion. I was originally going to leave it black and white but it looked like it was lacking something so I added color with colored pencil. Lastly, I wanted to do something with glitter for the background. I ended up covering a corner with glitter but I decided that I did not like it so I cut the lion out and glued it to a watercolor background I made. I was pleased about the outcome. I really liked the colors and the zentangle designs that I implemented into my piece. If I had to change one thing I would have to change the symmetry of the lion. Some parts of the lion were not reflected perfectly to the other side.
