Summary: Poppy's grandma is in the hospital. So Poppy has to stay in a children's center. One day she decides to go see her grandma. In the process she gets caught in a crime scene. She is know a valuable suspect. She is now staying with a police officer. She makes friends with a girl named Lizzy and a dog named Gunner. Will Poppy be able to have her normal life back?

Major characters and character traits: Poppy is brave, flexible, and patient because she has to adapt to a new way of living. Lizzy is funny, mischievous, and friendless because she was caught doing something very wrong. Trey is prepared, proper, and protecting because he is a police officer.
